Senior Accountant

Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support the monthly close, financial reporting, and property accounting functions for a diversified real estate portfolio. This role partners closely with asset management and operations to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and support the company's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple real estate entities.
• Lead month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting.
• Reconcile bank accounts, intercompany balances, fixed assets, and debt schedules.
• Prepare CAM reconciliations, operating expense reconciliations, and tenant billings.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, lender reporting, and investor reporting.
• Coordinate with property managers, asset managers, auditors, and tax advisors.
• Support audits, tax preparation, acquisitions, dispositions, and process improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and help strengthen accounting procedures and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 4–7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in commercial real estate or property accounting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting, CAM reconciliations, and tenant billings.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with Yardi, MRI, Sage Intacct, or similar ERP systems is preferred.
• CPA or CPA eligibility is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

• $80,000–$100,000 base salary plus annual bonus.
