Role: Senior Accountant
Pay: $80,000 - $110,000 / year

A Queens based property managment company is seeking a senior accountant to join a growing team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Analyze financial data and generate reports for management review.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including tracking acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries are accurate and timely.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Adhere to the monthly close schedule set forth by the Controller.
- Assist in preparing Income Statement/Balance sheet variance analysis and forecasts.
- Monitor material variances and provide management insights.
- Support external audit activities and preparation of audit schedules.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and assist with any filings around tax reporting.
- Mentor and train other accounting staff as appropriate.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve financial processes and reporting.
- Identify opportunities for streamlining accounting processes and implement approved improvements.
- Assist in implementing and upkeep accounting software e.g. NetSuite, related integrations and additional Accounting tools.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, required.
- 3+ years of accounting experience in private industry and/or Big Four Accounting Firm
- Audit or assurance experience preferred, CPA plus
- NetSuite (or similar platform) highly preferred, Microsoft Systems and banking portal experience required.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Excellent understanding of fundamental accounting principles e.g. Revenue Recognition – ASC 606, ASC 842
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent facilitation, training, interpersonal/relationship-building skills, and the ability to liaise positively with all levels of management
- Strong analytical, organizational, excellent prioritization skills, and proven problem-solving skills
- Strong project management skillset – ability to lead the planning and executions of complex accounting projects requiring coordination of needs across multiple locations
