Description

About the Role

Campus Ink is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing team and work directly with our CFO and existing accounting team.

We're seeking someone with a strong foundation in accounting, ideally gained through public accounting experience, who is comfortable getting into the details of the general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.

This is an opportunity for an accountant who enjoys the technical side of accounting but also wants to expand their experience into financial analysis, forecasting, and broader business operations.

You'll play an important role in improving our accounting processes, financial reporting, and internal controls while gaining exposure to a fast-growing business operating across ecommerce, wholesale retail, manufacturing, and collegiate licensing.

What You'll Do

  • Play a key role in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, investigate account discrepancies, and ensure accurate general ledger reporting.
  • Work closely with our accounting team on accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and cost of goods sold.
  • Develop and document accounting procedures, improve internal controls, and identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes.
  • Support accounting for licensing agreements, royalty obligations, and other unique aspects of our business.
  • Coordinate financial information for tax filings, licensing audits, banking requirements, and other external requests.
  • Prepare monthly budget-to-actual reporting and assist with annual budgeting and financial forecasting.
  • Help develop cash-flow forecasts, profitability analysis, and financial reporting for company leadership.
  • Support improvements to our accounting systems, reporting tools, and financial workflows.
  • Partner directly with the CFO on accounting, finance, and cross-functional business projects.

Why Campus Ink?

At Campus Ink, you'll have the opportunity to work directly with the CFO and gain hands-on experience across accounting, financial reporting, inventory, ecommerce, wholesale retail, manufacturing, licensing, and business operations.

We're looking for someone who enjoys accounting but also wants to understand how a business operates and help build the processes and financial infrastructure that support its growth.

For the right candidate, this position offers meaningful responsibility, exposure to senior leadership, and opportunities for continued professional growth.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP, debits and credits, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Hands-on experience with month-end close and general ledger accounting.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial data.
  • Ability to independently investigate accounting issues, identify discrepancies, and recommend solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a willingness to take ownership.
  • Interest in expanding beyond traditional accounting into financial analysis, forecasting, and business operations.
  • Ability to work from our Chicago office at least three days per week.
