TradeSTAR is working with a leading low voltage contractor in the Austin market to hire experienced technicians who can handle service calls across commercial and institutional environments.

About the Opportunity / What You ll Do
Service, troubleshoot, and maintain access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems
Diagnose and repair systems from leading manufacturers such as:
o LenelS2 (OnGuard)
o Genetec Security Center
o Software House (CCURE 9000)
o AMAG Symmetry
o Avigilon (Alta / Unity)
o Milestone XProtect
o Honeywell Pro-Watch / WIN-PAK
Program and support IP-based video surveillance systems (Axis, Hanwha Vision, Bosch)
Configure and troubleshoot network-connected devices including cameras, controllers, and servers
Perform firmware updates, database backups, and system upgrades
Analyze system faults including network latency, power issues, grounding faults, and device failures
Work with PoE switches, VLANs, and basic IP addressing to ensure system communication
Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and system schematics
Support integration points including fire alarm interface, elevator control, and building management systems
Complete detailed service reports, diagnostics logs, and customer documentation
Provide onsite client support and system training when needed

Qualifications / Who You Are
3+ years of experience in commercial security systems service and troubleshooting
Strong knowledge of access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems
Hands-on experience with major platforms like Lenel, Genetec, CCURE, AMAG, or Avigilon
Solid understanding of low voltage wiring, relays, inputs/outputs, and panel architecture
Experience with IP networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, subnets, PoE, switching)
Ability to troubleshoot both hardware and software-level issues
Comfortable working independently in live, occupied environments
Experience with laptops, diagnostic tools, and manufacturer-specific software
Texas Security License preferred
