    Work Schedule: Full-Time, 12-Month Position

    Bargaining Unit: Secretarial Bargaining Unit

    Salary and Benefits: Per Contract (Classification 4)

    Position Overview

    The Secretary provides comprehensive clerical, administrative, and operational support to the Department of Pupil Personnel Services (PPS). This full-time, 12-month position supports the day-to-day operations of the PPS Department and plays an important role in maintaining student records, coordinating special education and Section 504 processes, supporting districtwide attendance and truancy reporting, managing Medicaid-related functions, and ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and district requirements.

    The Secretary is responsible for handling confidential student information and records with a high degree of accuracy, discretion, and professionalism. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively with district administrators, school staff, families, outside agencies, and community partners.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or training in office administration, education, or a related field preferred.
    • Prior administrative or secretarial experience, preferably in an educational setting.
    • Experience working with confidential records and sensitive information preferred.
    • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
    • Proficiency with Google Workspace and related office technology.
    • Ability to learn and effectively use district, state, and federal data systems and software.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a collaborative team.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive student and personnel information.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, staff, students, families, outside agencies, and community partners.
    • Knowledge of FERPA, student records requirements, special education procedures, or Section 504 is preferred.
    • TB test requirement.
    • Background check required.
