Description

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Secret-Cleared Systems Engineer in San Diego, CA for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Systems Engineer will apply systems engineering and model-based engineering practices to develop system architectures, manage requirements, perform trade studies, and support system integration and testing. This role requires an active Secret clearance and experience translating customer needs into technical specifications across the complete product lifecycle.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience; master’s degree with 3+ years; or STEM PhD with 1+ year.
• Candidates may also qualify at higher levels with a bachelor’s degree and 8–12 years, master’s degree and 6–10 years, or PhD and 4–8 years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Current active U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
• Current Special Access Program access or ability to obtain and maintain SAP access.
• Proven systems engineering experience.
• System integration and testing experience.
• Experience developing, managing, analyzing, verifying, or validating system requirements.
• Experience performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface-definition studies.
• Experience translating customer requirements into detailed technical specifications.
• Strong technical writing, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines, program teams, and integrated product teams.

Preferred Skills

• Model-Based Systems Engineering experience.
• Cameo Enterprise Architecture experience.
• IBM DOORS experience.
• DOORS DXL scripting experience.
• SysML or UPDM modeling experience.
• Agile, Jira, or Confluence experience.
• Experience developing requirements or verification plans.
• Experience supporting complex military or spacecraft systems.
• Experience with large-scale system development programs.
• Active Top Secret clearance.
• INCOSE participation or CSEP certification.

What You’ll Do

• Develop behavioral, structural, and analytical system architectures using Cameo.
• Manage system requirements and specifications using DOORS.
• Perform requirements analysis, allocation, verification, and validation.
• Conduct functional analyses, trade studies, and interface-definition studies.
• Ensure system requirements, architectures, and designs align with program needs.
• Develop systems engineering and design artifacts.
• Create and mature architecture content for complex programs.
• Develop modeling techniques, procedures, and tool-integration processes.
• Participate in Engineering Review Boards and technical program reviews.
• Present technical approaches, findings, and recommendations.
• Provide cross-functional technical integration across program teams.
• Support capture activities, statements of work, data requirements, and trade studies.
• Apply technical expertise to resolve complex system-development problems.

Pay

• $121.02 per hour
