Summary
The Core Technician is a Scientist level role responsible for performing a variety of activities supporting the production of sterile biological pharmaceutical products in a cGMP-regulated clinical production environment. The position involves working primarily in a cleanroom environment and following established procedures, safety requirements, quality systems, and cGMP standards. The ideal candidate will have laboratory experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow written procedures while identifying deviations from accepted practices. This role requires a willingness to work a 12-hour rotating night shift and complete mandatory first-shift training for the first 4 6 weeks.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of laboratory and production activities supporting the manufacture of sterile biological pharmaceutical products.
- Follow all applicable safety policies, rules, regulations, procedures, and work instructions.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture and ensure team members follow established safety requirements.
- Support maintenance of quality systems and cGMP compliance across production activities.
- Ensure team members follow applicable processes, procedures, and instructions.
- Perform procedures accurately according to written guidelines and recognize and report deviations from accepted practices.
- Work primarily in a controlled cleanroom environment while adhering to applicable gowning and aseptic requirements.
- Wear required cleanroom PPE, including scrubs, hairnet, shoe covers, hood, gown, mask, boots, and two pairs of gloves.
- Establish clear objectives, monitor progress, manage competing priorities, and effectively coordinate available resources.
- Provide clear direction and support to team members and contribute to achieving team and production objectives.
- Maintain a high level of attention to quality, safety, compliance, and procedural accuracy.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences with basic laboratory experience, or High School Diploma with intermediate laboratory experience in a cGMP clinical production environment.
- 1 3 years of relevant laboratory or pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical production experience is required.
- Working knowledge of cGMP requirements and quality systems in a pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Ability to accurately follow written procedures, identify deviations from established practices, and maintain compliance with applicable procedures and standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a cleanroom environment while following gowning, PPE, and other safety requirements.
- Strong communication, organizational, and prioritization skills, with the ability to coordinate activities, manage competing priorities, and work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to provide clear direction, monitor progress, and support team objectives.
