EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.

PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY:

Responsible for scheduling and notifying committee members and parents of upcoming Admission, Review, Dismissal (ARD)/Individual Education Plan (IEP) Meeting. Maintain calendar of schedule ARD/IEP meetings for designated campuses.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Works collaboratively with campus-based staff to ensure the required/necessary participants are invited to ARD/IEP meetings.

  2. Schedules ARD/IEP meetings for campus-based staff (approximately 200 per campus/per year).

  3. Prepares and mails ARD/IEP notices within the required timelines.

  4. Notifies parents of ARD/IEP meetings in a timely fashion.

  5. Compiles and posts ARD/IEP Committee meeting calendar.

  6. Maintain monthly calendar for upcoming ARDs.

  7. Sends notification reminders to parents and ARD/IEP committee members of upcoming ARD/IEP meetings, at least one week prior to meeting date.

  8. Follows up with Campus Coordinator to ensure meetings take place as scheduled by the deadline in which they are due.

  9. Maintains database of ARD/IEP meetings due and scheduled meetings.

10.Maintains confidentiality of information.

11.Reports to work on time every day.

12.Performs additional duties and other responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and in a positive manner
  • Ability to use personal computer and software for spreadsheets, databases, word processing and electronically invite/schedule meetings
  • Proficiency in typing and word processing
  • Working knowledge of basic office procedures
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to drive personal vehicle in the performance of assigned tasks.
