SAP Transportation Management (TM) Consultant / Specialist

This hybrid role as Geospatial Manager MAP focuses on implementing and optimizing SAP FICO Profit Centre Accounting and Product Costing solutions for complex enterprise environments while collaborating with cross functional stakeholders to ensure accurate financial insights and operational transparency across business units, enabling better strategic decisions and sustainable value for the organization and society. Demonstrate strong hands on configuration skills in SAP FICO including profit centre structures cost element design and product costing variants tailored to diverse operational contexts.

Our client, a IT Services and Consulting company, is looking for a SAP Transportation Management (TM) Consultant / Specialist for their Minneapolis, MN/Remote location.
 
Responsibilities:

• This is a technical upgrade project, not a new implementation or enhancement-focused role.
• Candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced upgrade testing/validation cycle with tight timelines.

• Drive detailed assessment of existing SAP FICO profit centre accounting configurations to ensure accurate mapping of financial data for geospatially distributed business units
• Design robust SAP FICO structures that align profit centre accounting and product costing with regional and site specific operations to support transparent performance tracking
• Configure and optimize SAP FICO product costing models so that cost flows reflect real world production and service processes across multiple locations and business lines
• Coordinate hybrid working practices by planning onsite and remote collaboration routines that maintain continuity of finance operations and project delivery
• Develop clear process documentation for SAP FICO profit centre accounting and product costing so that finance and operations teams can execute daily tasks consistently and confidently
• Guide stakeholders through impact analysis of proposed SAP FICO changes to prevent disruptions in reporting and to safeguard compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements
• Partner with controllers and business analysts to interpret financial outputs from SAP FICO and translate them into actionable insights for margin improvement and cost optimization initiatives
• Oversee unit testing and integration testing for SAP FICO enhancements to validate data integrity and confirm stable performance across upstream and downstream systems
• Coordinate with technical teams to manage transports and system changes so that SAP FICO configurations remain stable secure and aligned with enterprise architecture standards
• Monitor day to day incidents and service requests related to SAP FICO profit centre accounting and product costing and drive timely resolution to minimize business impact
• Prepare training materials and run focused knowledge sharing sessions for finance and operations professionals so they can fully leverage SAP FICO capabilities for planning and analysis
• Engage with sustainability and corporate responsibility teams to ensure that financial structures support transparent reporting of environmental social and governance related costs and investments
• Continuously evaluate emerging SAP functionalities and industry practices to recommend incremental improvements that enhance financial clarity resilience and societal value creation

• Experience Level: 4–5 Years (SAP TM Functional)
• We are looking for an SAP TM Techno-Functional consultant to support a technical S/4HANA upgrade (2023 to 2025).
• This is a pure technical upgrade engagement, and the ideal candidate must bring hands-on experience from at least one full HANA upgrade life cycle — not production support alone.
• 4–5 years of SAP TM (Transportation Management) functional experience.
• Must have hands-on experience with at least one full life cycle of a HANA/S4HANA technical upgrade (not limited to production support or AMS-only exposure).
• Strong understanding of TM configuration, master data, and process flows in an upgrade/testing context.
• Ability to support regression testing, functional validation, and issue resolution during upgrade cycles.
• Experience working in an AMS-to-upgrade transition environment.

• Use practical experience in hybrid work environments to coordinate distributed teams and maintain consistent communication documentation and delivery quality
• Exhibit strong problem solving abilities to analyze defects in profit centre accounting or product costing flows and to implement sustainable solutions without disrupting core operations
• Show familiarity with integration points between SAP FICO and logistics production and sales processes so that cost and revenue flows remain complete and reliable
• Communicate complex SAP FICO concepts to finance and non finance partners in clear and inclusive language enabling informed decisions and shared ownership of outcomes
