SAP MDG Consultant- Data Strategist

Location: Remote-- Need basis Travel to Rochester, NY-- Paid on Actuals- 2 trips in a month- (please submit local/nearby candidates)

Role Summary:
Looking for a Data Strategist with SAP MDG knowledge/exposure to help customers define and execute strategies for moving master data from SAP systems to other enterprise platforms. The role will work with business and technical stakeholders to ensure data quality, governance, integration, and successful migration.

Key Responsibilities
Assess current SAP master data landscape and identify migration requirements.
Define data migration and data governance strategy.
Work with business teams to understand data usage, ownership, and quality challenges.
Guide source-to-target mapping, data cleansing, and transformation activities.
Recommend approaches for moving data from SAP to non-SAP applications, cloud platforms, or data warehouses.
Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance throughout the migration process.
Collaborate with architects, integration teams, and business stakeholders.
Support data lineage, metadata management, and master data governance initiatives.


Required Skills
Strong understanding of Data Management and Data Governance concepts.
Exposure to SAP MDG (Material, Customer, Vendor, or Business Partner data).
Experience in data migration, data mapping, and data quality initiatives.
Knowledge of SAP ECC/S4HANA master data structures.
Understanding of integrations between SAP and non-SAP systems.
Strong stakeholder communication and consulting skills.
