LHH is assisting a law firm in its search for an experienced Contract Litigation Attorney to support its civil litigation defense practice. This is a temporary opportunity that can be based out of the firm's San Diego or Long Beach, California office, with the potential for a remote schedule for the right candidate.
The attorney will work closely with partners and other members of the litigation team on an active caseload of civil defense matters. This is an excellent opportunity for a California-barred attorney who can step into an established practice and provide immediate, hands-on litigation support.
Responsibilities
Manage and support civil litigation defense matters from inception through resolution.
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents.
Conduct legal research and provide analysis on substantive and procedural issues.
Handle written discovery and assist with document review and case strategy.
Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and other litigation proceedings, as appropriate.
Analyze case files, evidence, discovery, and relevant legal authorities.
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other parties involved in litigation.
Work closely with partners and the litigation team to develop case strategy and meet court and client deadlines.
Assist with additional litigation needs based on caseload and business demands.
Opportunity
This contract position offers an experienced litigator the opportunity to:
Join an established civil litigation defense practice and make an immediate impact.
Work on substantive litigation assignments rather than solely document review.
Gain exposure to a variety of civil defense matters.
Work from either the San Diego or Long Beach office.
Potentially work a hybrid or remote schedule for the right candidate, based on experience, business needs, and the nature of assigned matters.
Consider a contract opportunity that provides flexibility while maintaining substantive litigation experience.

Hourly rate: $80 to $ 95 per hour
The anticipated pay range may depend on several factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, and the specific requirements of the assignment.
Contract Duration: 4-6 months
Schedule: Full-time, temporary/contract
