Sales Manager Position Overview As Sales Manager at a Modigent operating company, you will lead a high-performing sales team focused on growing commercial HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical service revenue. You will be responsible for pipeline management, coaching and developing sales representatives, achieving sales targets, and building strong, long-lasting customer relationships. This role combines people leadership with strategic sales planning to drive profitable growth and expand our presence in the market. Duties and Responsibilities - Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team and individual performance.
- Own full pipeline management, including accurate forecasting, opportunity tracking, and deal progression.
- Design and implement strategic sales plans that expand the customer base and strengthen market presence.
- Recruit, onboard, set objectives, coach, and monitor performance of sales representatives.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing motivation, coaching, and skill development.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships by understanding customer needs and delivering value.
- Present sales results, revenue reports, and realistic forecasts to senior leadership.
- Develop and implement field sales action plans and sales programs.
- Drive sales excellence through observed calls, joint customer visits, and continuous coaching.
- Assess team strengths and gaps; adjust sales programs and training accordingly.
- Generate and pursue new customer opportunities while maintaining and growing existing accounts.
- Represent the company at conferences, meetings, and industry events as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities Yes – Direct leadership of the sales team, including performance management, coaching, and development of sales representatives. Requirements/Qualifications - Experience: 7+ years of progressive B2B sales experience, with at least 3 years in a sales leadership or management role. Commercial HVAC, mechanical services, or related industry experience strongly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Physical Demands: Primarily office-based with regular local and regional travel to customer sites and team meetings.
- Work Environment/Safety: Professional office environment with hybrid options. Regular use of computers, phones, tablets, and CRM systems. This is not a safety-sensitive position.
