Company Overview:

The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with Hot Topic to find qualified candidates for a Sales Associate position. Hot Topic is a specialty retailer focused on music, pop culture, fandom, alternative fashion, accessories, and collectibles. The company creates an inclusive and engaging shopping experience by offering merchandise inspired by popular entertainment, trends, and fan communities.

Position Overview:

The Sales Associate provides exceptional customer service by assisting customers with product selection and creating an engaging shopping experience. The role supports sales floor and stockroom operations, including merchandise organization, visual merchandising, inventory, and planogram changes. The Sales Associate also processes transactions, promotes add-on sales and shopping services, and supports loss prevention efforts. This position works closely with management and team members to help achieve store goals and deliver a welcoming customer experience.

 

This position is located in Staten Island, NY.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist customers with product selection and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Operate the register and accurately process sales transactions and payments.
  • Promote add-on sales and available shopping services.
  • Maintain assigned sales floor areas and visual merchandising standards.
  • Assist with planogram changes, store maps, fixtures, walls, and displays.
  • Replenish merchandise and maintain an organized stockroom.
  • Support loss prevention efforts by following company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the store team to achieve sales goals and perform other assigned duties.
Requirements:
  • At least 6 months of previous retail, customer service, or sales experience.
  • Experience operating a cash register or POS system.
  • Experience with inventory, stocking, or stockroom operations.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and sales skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Interest and knowledge in music, fashion, pop culture, and fandom culture.
Pay Range: USD $17.00 - USD $17.00 /Hr.
