Ensuring Chart's Success…
This position manages all employees of the Safety department and is responsible for the indirect supervision of all employees as it relates to Safety practices.
What Will You Do?
Directs, develops and oversees general safety policy and procedures
Ensures the workplace is in compliance with OSHA and other state, local or industry specific regulations
Manages the Safety and Health function to meet our Safety Policy
Responsible for the promotion of Safety and Health of the Hudson Operation
Ensures Safety Audits are conducted on a weekly basis and provides management with metrics to improve
Participates and/or leads incident investigations for compliance to safety standards
Adapts to operational needs and addresses immediate concerns of the manufacturing environment
Plan and direct safety orientation, skills trainings, emergency plans and job specific safety training
Collects and analyzes safety related data to reduce and prevent workplace accidents and improve overall facility safety record

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands; and reach with hands and arms.
This position is classified as safety sensitive. Due to the use of heavy machinery, power tools, and exposure to potentially hazardous conditions, the role requires heightened awareness and adherence to all safety protocols. Employees must be able to perform duties in a manner that ensures their own safety and the safety of others in the workplace
Your Experience Should Be...
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety or similar degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
3 - 5 years related experience and/or training in a manufacturing industry. Management experience in Health and Safety required.
OSHA 10 hour and 30 hour general industry trainer certification highly desirable.
REQUIREMENTS - MUST BE ABLE TO DO THE FOLLOWING:
Strong organization skills and a working knowledge of OSHA Standards
Coordinate with other department managers to assure that safety standards meet Company objectives
Develop procedures to assure that the department's work is of consistent high quality and adheres to industrial and Company standards
Direct weekly safety meetings with supervisors and managers to promote company safety goals
Monitor and report significant safety concerns to managers promptly for investigation
Review and monitor audit results for continuous improvement
Ensure that safety is a focus across departments
Provide guidance on hazardous material disposal
Provide guidance on PPE standards and access ongoing needs for equipment
Communicate Effectively and Accurately
Write performance reviews for staff and timely resolve all internal issues
Other duties as assigned
