Job Description
The Construction Safety Manager will be responsible for:
- Develop and Implement Safety Policies: Create and enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards. Regularly review and update safety protocols to keep them current with evolving regulations and best practices.
- Conduct Safety Inspections and Audits: Perform routine safety inspections on construction sites to identify hazards and ensure safe work practices are followed. Conduct regular safety audits to evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and identify areas for improvement.
- Training and Education: Organize and conduct safety training sessions for employees, subcontractors, and management to ensure everyone understands and follows safety protocols. Ensure workers are trained in the correct use of equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency procedures.
- Incident Investigation and Reporting: Investigate accidents, injuries, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. Prepare detailed reports on incidents and accidents, and communicate findings to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure Compliance with Regulations: Stay up to date with federal, state, and local safety regulations (such as OSHA, EPA, etc.) and ensure construction activities comply with these laws. Ensure necessary permits and documentation are in place for safety compliance and work with regulatory agencies when necessary.
- Risk Assessment and Hazard Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments on construction sites to identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures to mitigate risks. Work with project managers and engineers to address specific safety concerns related to the project.

The Successful Applicant
The ideal Construction Safety Manager will have:
- 5-10+ years of Safety experience with a General Contractor or Developer
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related preferred (or relevant experience)
- Commercial project experience required (with a GC)
- Experience managing projects $5M+
- Ability to communicate with subcontractors and other project team members
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
- Ability to multitask
- Strong communication and interpersonal skill
- Ability to educate and enforce OSHA regulations and safety protocols
