We are seeking an experienced and proactive Safety & Compliance Manager to lead company-wide safety initiatives, oversee regulatory compliance programs, and support operational best practices across our transportation network. This role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about driver safety, risk management, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

Position Overview

As a Safety & Compliance Manager, you will oversee transportation safety programs, manage compliance initiatives, monitor regulatory requirements, investigate incidents, and partner with operational leaders to foster a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities as a Safety & Compliance Manager:

Safety Leadership

• Develop, implement, and manage safety programs across all transportation operations
• Promote a culture focused on safety awareness, accident prevention, and accountability
• Conduct facility inspections, safety audits, and operational assessments
• Monitor safety performance metrics and develop improvement strategies
• Identify safety risks and implement corrective actions to improve outcomes
• Lead ongoing initiatives to strengthen operational safety and reduce incidents

Compliance Management

• Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, and industry standards
• Maintain accurate compliance records, documentation, and reporting requirements
• Conduct internal audits and reviews to verify regulatory compliance
• Monitor regulatory changes and implement updates as needed
• Support compliance with local, state, and federal transportation requirements
• Maintain policies and procedures that align with current safety regulations

Driver Qualification & Risk Management

• Oversee driver qualification files, licensing records, certifications, and background screenings
• Manage drug and alcohol testing programs and compliance requirements
• Monitor renewal deadlines and ensure required documentation remains current
• Support onboarding and qualification processes for new drivers
• Help maintain a highly qualified, compliant, and safety-focused driver workforce
• Analyze risk trends and recommend proactive solutions

Incident Investigation & Corrective Action

• Investigate accidents, incidents, customer complaints, and safety-related concerns
• Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans
• Track trends and identify opportunities to reduce operational risk
• Prepare reports, recommendations, and documentation for leadership review
• Partner with operational teams to implement and monitor corrective measures
• Ensure timely reporting and resolution of safety-related incidents

Training & Operational Support

• Coordinate and support safety and compliance training programs
• Educate drivers and employees on policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Partner with operational leadership to promote consistent safety standards
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety performance
• Serve as a resource for safety, compliance, and regulatory guidance

Qualifications as a Safety & Compliance Manager:

• Experience in transportation safety, compliance, risk management, fleet operations, or a related field preferred
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, transportation compliance, and safety management practices
• Experience conducting audits, inspections, investigations, and corrective action planning
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and compliance management systems
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement
• Professional certifications related to safety or compliance are a plus
