A 240-bed acute care regional medical center in Portsmouth, NH — the only hospital in the area recognized as an ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center and a Comprehensive Stroke Center — is seeking an RN Manager for its 23-bed Progressive Care Neuro Trauma unit.

The role. Reporting to the unit director, this manager oversees day-to-day operations of a progressive care unit serving neuro patients (strokes, craniotomies, brain bleeds, altered mental status, and seizures) alongside trauma patients with fractures and injuries from falls and accidents. The manager leads staff scheduling, patient and family rounding, care planning support, and quality reviews — including medication scanning reviews and documentation of medication protocols. In collaboration with the unit director, the manager participates in interviewing and hiring, monitors and evaluates employee performance, assists with learning plans and annual evaluations, and supports disciplinary processes when indicated. The role also contributes to budget formulation, supply management, and compliance with regulatory and nursing standards, and assumes full oversight of departmental operations in the director's absence.

What we're looking for.
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • NH RN License or Compact State RN License
  • 1+ years of leadership experience (Coordinator, Manager, or higher); will consider a CNC, supervisor, or a seasoned charge nurse (5+ years)
  • Critical care experience preferred
  • ACLS & BLS within 30 days of hire

Schedule. Full-time, days, no weekends.

Compensation. $100,000 - $148,000 per year
