Risk Analyst

Location: Merrifield, Virginia (Hybrid)

Alternate Location: Pensacola, FL, or Vienna, VA (Hybrid)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Risk Analyst to support the operation of the risk function. The role involves evaluating and analyzing risks of varying complexity and identifying and implementing solutions to mitigate those risks. This position may focus on financial or operational risk and will provide advice to management based on this knowledge. The ideal candidate will be a developing professional with a basic skill set and proficiency with relevant procedures and techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan the research for and development of specialized risk assessment scopes.
• Collaborate with management and personnel to optimize risk assessment scope development.
• Identify potential business risks, operational and regulatory process deficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Gather and synthesize data; present conclusions and offer risk mitigation, remediation, and process improvement solutions to management.
• Lead or conduct the administration of specialized risk assessment and testing lifecycles of business activities, processes, policies, and procedures for operational effectiveness and compliance.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Auditing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.

Experience: Experience level of 1-5 years. Basic understanding of the business and operating environment. Experience with project management skills.

Technical Skills: Knowledge and understanding of risk-based auditing techniques and methodologies. Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. Knowledge of operational and regulatory risk controls concepts and practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position with the expectation to report onsite a minimum of three days per week. The work schedule is 8:00am - 4:30pm local time. Interviews for this position will be conducted on-site.
