Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Revenue Cycle Billing Specialist - Skilled Nursing for an established senior care organization in Old Bridge, New Jersey. This is a full-time, contract-to-hire opportunity for an experienced healthcare billing professional with hands-on skilled nursing facility billing and collections experience.
The Revenue Cycle Billing Specialist will manage the full billing and collections cycle for skilled nursing and subacute care, including monthly billing, claims submission, collections, payment posting, remittance review, denial follow-up, rebilling, and appeals. This position will work across Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and private pay accounts while also providing guidance and oversight to a small team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage monthly billing and collections for skilled nursing and subacute care, including preparing and submitting claims across Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and private pay accounts.
Follow up on unpaid and denied claims, research discrepancies, and submit corrected claims, rebills, and appeals through resolution.
Post payments, revenue, adjustments, and cash receipts accurately while reviewing remittances and maintaining accurate accounts receivable records.
Maintain resident billing information and required payer documentation, including Medicare and Medicaid information, and respond to account balance inquiries from residents and families.
Monitor outstanding accounts and credit balances and complete required billing reports, documentation, and payer-related paperwork.
Provide day-to-day guidance and oversight to 1-2 team members while partnering closely with the Business Office Manager and broader finance team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
2+ years of billing and collections experience within a skilled nursing facility is required.
Hands-on experience with both billing claims and collecting unpaid claims, including denial follow-up, rebilling, and appeals.
Strong knowledge of Medicare billing is required, along with experience working with Medicaid, commercial insurance, and private pay accounts.
Experience posting payments and adjustments, reviewing remittances, and maintaining accurate accounts receivable records.
Previous supervisory, lead, or team oversight experience; MatrixCare and/or SigmaCare experience is preferred.
LOCATION & SCHEDULE:
This position is fully onsite in Old Bridge, NJ 08857. The schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 AM-4:00/4:30 PM.
This position works within a collaborative, multi-person office and interacts regularly with residents and their families. The ideal candidate will bring strong customer service skills, patience, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
COMPENSATION:
This is a full-time, contract-to-hire opportunity The position offers $30.00-$31.25 per hour.
