Through individualized treatment plans, family engagement, and trauma-informed care, we help young people heal from abuse, neglect, and trauma while developing the skills needed to thrive in their families and communities.About the RoleAs a Residential Youth Unit Coordinator, you will provide day-to-day leadership and oversight for a residential treatment unit, ensuring youth receive safe, structured, and individualized care. This role supervises direct care staff, coordinates treatment implementation, promotes a positive therapeutic milieu, and supports youth as they work toward their treatment goals.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on leadership, coaching and mentoring staff, and creating supportive environments where youth can heal, grow, and succeed.What You'll DoOversee daily unit operations, including staff supervision, scheduling, treatment coordination, and maintaining program resources.Ensure youth treatment plans are implemented consistently through trauma-informed and youth-centered practices.Coach, mentor, and supervise staff through formal supervision, on-the-job guidance, and performance feedback.Monitor unit safety, conduct routine rounds, support crisis intervention efforts, and ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures.Build positive relationships with youth, families, staff, and community partners while fostering an inclusive and affirming environment.Participate in hiring, staff development, quality improvement initiatives, and program planning to enhance outcomes for youth.Who We're Looking ForRequiredMust be at least 25 years of age.Valid Illinois driver's license.High School Diploma or GED with five years of related experience; OR Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field.Minimum of one year of direct experience working with youth ages 8-18 who have experienced trauma, behavioral health challenges, or developmental disabilities.Knowledge of crisis intervention, behavior management, and de-escalation strategies.Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and support youth through an empowerment-focused approach.PreferredExperience in residential treatment, child welfare, behavioral health, or youth development programs.Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.Experience supporting LGBTQ+ youth and creating affirming environments.Knowledge of trauma-informed care and therapeutic milieu practices.Position Requirements & Work EnvironmentWork Location: Child & Family Treatment Center (CFTC), 4833 N. Francisco Ave., Chicago, IL 60625.Schedule: Full-time, onsite position. Typical second-shift schedule is 1:00 PM-9:00 PM or 3:00 PM-11:00 PM, five days per week, including weekends.Travel/Driving: Must maintain a valid driver's license and be able to transport youth or travel for program-related needs when necessary.Physical Requirements: Ability to respond to crises, perform unit rounds, and actively supervise youth in a residential environment.Work Environment: Residential treatment setting serving youth with emotional, behavioral, and trauma-related challenges.Other Position Requirements: Flexibility to ensure adequate staffing coverage, youth safety, and participation in on-call responsibilities as needed.Compensation and BenefitsWe care about the well-being of our employees and are proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package that includes:Hourly Rate: $21.54-$24.00 per hour.
