Advertised Job Summary
The primary responsibilities of this position are to conduct laboratory analyses, maintain laboratory organization and safety, and support day-to-day research operations. The successful candidate will perform biological and physiological laboratory assays; process and organize biological samples; maintain laboratory equipment and supplies; manage chemical inventories and safety documentation; coordinate laboratory inspections and compliance activities; organize research data and laboratory records; and assist with the supervision and management of undergraduate research volunteers.
In addition to laboratory responsibilities, the laboratory technician will assist with the operation and maintenance of aquatic mesocosm systems, routine aquatic animal husbandry, water quality monitoring, and field and laboratory experiments.
