Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a full-time Research Assistant to support the different studies, as well as additional NIH-funded research projects focused on brain development and autism. These landmark, multi-site studies aim to advance our understanding of cognitive, behavioral, and brain development through neuroimaging and comprehensive behavioral assessments. Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate study visits and assist with participant scheduling and study protocol compliance
  • Support data collection activities, including behavioral assessments and REDCap data entry
  • Assist with MRI research sessions and data acquisition procedures
  • Perform quality control check to ensure data accuracy and completeness
  • Maintain study records and transfer data according to study protocols
  • Collaborate with UCLA investigators, staff, and partner research sites
  • Assist with preparation of research reports, figures, posters, and manuscripts
  • Support daily laboratory and administrative operations, including supply ordering and project coordination

Salary range: $30.12/hr - $35.92/hr

Job Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Public Health, Cognitive Science, or related field (preferred)

Experience working with pediatric populations

Experience with research studies involving children, adolescents, or families (preferred)

Familiarity with REDCap and research data management (preferred)

Experience with neuroimaging research or software such as FSL, SPM, AFNI, or FreeSurfer (preferred)

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and data entry systems

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with research participants, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds
