Commercial Real Estate Asset Manager

Job Description

Manage and hold accountable third-party operating partners across the portfolio, ensuring alignment with performance and operational expectations. Build and maintain reporting frameworks and dashboards that give senior leadership clear, timely visibility into asset- and portfolio-level performance. Lead acquisition and disposition initiatives across the portfolio, including underwriting, due diligence, and coordination with brokers, legal counsel, and other transaction parties. Identify and execute value-creation, repositioning, or exit strategies for underperforming or non-core assets. Prepare investment memos, asset-level business plans, and annual operating budgets for each asset and track actual performance against budget, identifying variances and directing corrective action. Track market conditions, comparable sales and leasing activity, and capital markets trends relevant to office and multifamily assets. Coordinate with internal finance, accounting, and legal teams on capital expenditures, leasing decisions, and financial reporting matters. Take on other responsibilities as needed in the management, stabilization, and disposition of REO assets.

The Successful Applicant

7-10+ years of commercial real estate asset management experience, ideally spanning both office and multifamily property types. Experience with REO, special servicing, or distressed/workout asset management strongly preferred - whether gained at an ownership/principal platform or at a financial institution (bank, servicer, or lender). Understanding of different capital structures which may apply to this portfolio: fee simple ownership, Preferred Equity (i.e. rescue pref), etc. Demonstrated experience in developing and managing reporting processes and procedures to evaluate performance against plan. Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to present to senior leadership. Direct experience leading or supporting acquisition and disposition transactions. Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and asset/portfolio reporting systems. Desire to integrate AI and other technologies into existing workflows. A "deal person" mentality - commercially sharp, decisive, and energized by moving quickly in a dynamic environment. Bachelor's degree in real estate, finance, business, or a related field.
