This position is for a Reliability Engineer to support the LRHW System Engineering, Integration & Test organization.

This position develops, coordinates, and conducts technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (doe) constructs. Recommends design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability. Compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards. Analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer, and governmental agency reliability objectives. May develop mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes posing excessive failure risks. As necessary, proposes changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability. May determine units and/or batches requiring environmental testing and specifies minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data.

Responsibilities

• Lead Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analyses (FMECA) and produce reliability block diagrams and quantitative predictions.
• Create, execute, and track reliability growth plans; perform growth analysis to ensure program contracts are satisfied.
• Support design reviews, test events, and configuration control processes (ECP, CSB, CCB).
• Participate in Corrective Action Boards (CAB) and Failure Review Boards (FRB) to drive root cause resolution.
• Analyze FRACAS trends, prioritize failure modes, and recommend corrective actions that prevent recurrence.
• Compile performance reports, process control statistics, and detailed reliability documentation for stakeholders.
• Collaborate daily with engineers, program managers, and customers, delivering clear analytical input and written reports.
• Conduct RAMT activities such as FMECA, Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), and BIT demonstrations.
• Participate in detailed design sessions, technical interchange meetings, and program reviews, providing RAMT expertise.
• Review specifications, drawings, and Engineering Change Proposals.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering or STEM related field or relevant and equivalent work experience.
• Experience with performing reliability predictions and analyses.
• Experience with reliability FRACAS and statistical data mining.
• Experience with the FMECA process.
• U.S. Military Customer interface experience.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Secret clearance - U.S. Citizenship is required.

Desired Skills

• Experience as a project or team lead, building consensus among peers and effective relationships with team members.

• Ability to manage subcontractors in the Reliability field of expertise.

• Previous experience leading Reliability projects or teams.

• Strong electrical and mechanical systems background.

• Significant Reliability Engineering experience in the following:

• Creation of Program Plans for Reliability, Maintainability, Availability and Testability (RAMT)

• Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability Predictions and Analysis

• Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)

• Reliability Critical Items List

• Fault Tree Analysis

• Built-in Test (BIT)

• Service Life / Design Life / Storage Life / Operating Life Analysis

• Reliability Growth Planning and Implementation

• Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) Design and Implementation

• Familiarity with industry standards (i.e., MIL-HDBK-217, Milt-STD-1629, MIL-STD-1543, MIL-HDBK-338, MIL-HDBK-472)

• Active or Current Secret Security Clearance; US Citizenship Required

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $70500.00 - $130900.00

• For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
