We are seeking a (Full-Time) Rehabilitation Counselor to work in our Behavioral Health Services Division. To provide support, education, and guidance to individuals who have been identified as having a mental health and personality disorder and are involved with the criminal justice system. To support participant activities, skill development, goal achievement, and engagement with the local community. To implement the overall mission, values, and beliefs of Horizon House in all aspects of the job. 

Other Responsibilities, but not all-inclusive;

· Assist with the growth and development of the participants, including skill building and social support utilization in accordance with the principles of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
·Provide one-on-one behavioral intervention in the home or community settings in accordance with strategies identified in the individualized treatment/service plan.
·Participate in developing goals with the participant, for

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services/Social Services, Healthcare or related field with least 1 year of experience working directly with individuals with mental health and/or other behavioral health disorders or in a forensic setting; or Associates Degree, or 60 credits in human services or related field and 3 years experience in working directly with individuals with mental health disorders and/or other behavioral health disorders or in a forensic setting; or High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 5 years experience in mental health and/or other behavioral health disorders or forensic setting.
· Experience in residential or other services to individuals with Severe Mental Illness or Personality Disorders preferred.
· Good communication and counseling skills.
Good writing and computer skills for documenting in an electronic health record.
Ability to work independently and as part of a focused team.

Scope:
· Frequent talking and listening.
· Requires the ability to lift, carry, fold, kneel, reach, stack, stoop, and bend, which may include direct intervention with participants.
· Will require crisis intervention in emergencies, including managing aggression.
· Possess manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
· Possess a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
· Local travel required, including transporting program participants.
· May be required to report to work during emergencies, including inclement weather.
