Job Title: Regulatory Affairs Specialist

Job Description

This entry-level Regulatory Affairs Specialist role offers a hybrid work arrangement based in the St. Louis area and provides the opportunity for ongoing contract renewals based on strong performance. The position focuses on supporting state regulatory activities for crop protection products in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment. The successful candidate applies critical thinking, independently solves problems, manages multiple priorities, and works with databases and data management systems to help ensure regulatory compliance and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the regulatory team in managing state regulatory activities required to obtain and maintain registrations for crop protection products, including FIFRA Sections 3, 24(c), 2(ee), 18, and 5.
  • Communicate with state regulatory agencies regarding submissions, approvals, renewals, and related regulatory matters.
  • Maintain and update regulatory databases and internal tracking systems to ensure accurate, current information.
  • Scan regulatory mail and supporting documents and file them electronically in designated systems.
  • Track and process payment of state registration fees, including new product registration fees, annual state renewal fees, tonnage fees, and other related charges.
  • Review product labels for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with federal and state regulatory requirements.
  • Interpret and evaluate federal and state registration requirements and apply them to the organization's products to maintain compliance.
  • Provide regulatory support and service to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate information.
  • Respond to inquiries for regulatory information from internal and external stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
  • Scan regulatory and supporting documents, file them in databases, and/or mail them to designated recipients as needed.
  • Perform other regulatory-related assignments as required to support team and organizational goals.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a field of science, business, or a related discipline, plus 2 years of professional working experience.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in documentation and data management.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills for interacting with regulatory agencies and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and related applications.
  • Database management experience, including entering, maintaining, querying, and managing information within databases or data management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and work through complex regulatory and data issues.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects and changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively in a team setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with document comparison tools is a plus.
  • Experience working in environments that require critical thinking, independent problem-solving, and adaptation to new challenges beyond following predefined SOPs.
  • Comfort working with data, including analyzing and organizing information within regulatory and tracking systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

Work Environment

This role follows a hybrid work model based in the St. Louis area, combining remote work with time on-site as needed to support regulatory operations. The work environment is highly dynamic and evolving, requiring flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to manage changing priorities and multiple concurrent projects. You will work extensively with regulatory databases, document management systems, and the Microsoft Office suite to process submissions, maintain records, and communicate with state regulatory agencies and stakeholders. The position is contract-based with the potential for ongoing renewals tied to performance, offering exposure to complex regulatory frameworks for crop protection products and collaboration with a professional regulatory team in a structured yet fast-paced setting

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
