Regional Director of Facilities Management

North Central Surgical Center Hospital (NCSC) is a highly successful, Baylor Scott & White affiliated hospital located in Dallas, TX. We partner with the very best team members and medical staff in the area. We are an elective surgical focused hospital that performs over 12,000 procedures per year.

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Regional Director of Facilities Management oversees all departmental functions associated with handlings of Facility Management for multiple sites to support the hospital's mission, vision, and facility goals. The Director establishes effective working relationships with patients, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors, supporting Senior Management in achieving facility goals. The Director will be an active team facilitator and strong communicator in emergency response and is authorized to access medication storage areas for maintenance, repairs, and supply delivery purposes.

Facilities Maintenance and Safety
  • Oversee the repair and maintenance of facility equipment and systems, including preventive maintenance, inspections, calibration, and adjustments
  • Ensure compliance with State, Joint Commission, and OSHA requirements by maintaining up-to-date records
  • Direct and participate in the development of safety and disaster policies and ensure their effective implementation
  • Serve as the chair of the Safety Committee and as Safety Officer, reporting safety inspections and concerns for corrective action
  • Develop and implement programs for hazardous material management and life safety code compliance
Operations and Compliance
  • Develop, implement, and revise policies and procedures that support facility services and align with organizational goals
  • Coordinate services within the department and integrate them with other hospital departments
  • Support Senior Management and collaborate on facility program development and service improvements
  • Accept responsibility for managing resources in a fiscally responsible manner, staffing according to volume fluctuations, and adhering to productivity goals
  • Participate in the selection of outside service providers and evaluate their performance against hospital standards
Customer Service and Communication
  • Promote a positive customer service attitude to encourage quality patient care and maintain the facility's reputation
  • Address customer concerns in a timely manner, ensuring resolution within 72 hours
  • Share patient, employee, and physician satisfaction survey results quarterly, implementing action plans for improvement as needed
Human Resources
  • Recruit and retain qualified staff, accurately complete personnel paperwork, and actively manage turnover
  • Conduct timely performance evaluations and ensure payroll processes are completed in accordance with hospital policies
  • Demonstrate respect for cultural values, ethics, and religious beliefs that impact patient care
Resource Utilization and Fiscal Responsibility
  • Utilize hospital resources effectively, staff according to productivity goals, and create corrective action plans as necessary
  • Prepare operational and capital budgets in a timely manner
  • Recommend space and other resources to support departmental needs and ensure efficient operations
Performance Improvement
  • Promote Performance Improvement activities, assess departmental performance, and use data to identify problem-prone processes
  • Ensure the department maintains a safe environment through participation in safety drills and adherence to quality control programs
  • Continuously assess and improve the department's performance to align with organizational mission, vision, and values
Required Skills

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred

Licensure/Certification:

  • None required
  • Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) certification preferred
  • Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) certification preferred
  • In addition, PMP, CMCI, CFM, or FMP certification preferred
  • Valid state driver's license

Specific Job Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in general maintenance duties within a hospital setting
  • Experience managing facility operations and environmental services
