The Regional Chief Medical Officer (RCMO) is a senior physician executive responsible for clinical leadership, quality alignment, and outcomes performance across a multi-state region. This role provides strategic oversight of Area Chief Medical Officers (ACMOs), mentors physician leaders, and ensures consistent execution of Outcomes-Centered Healthcare (OCH) principles across markets.

As an OCH Champion, the RCMO is accountable for shared savings, clinical integrity, and quality performance. You’ll drive QAPI accountability, reinforce best-practice adherence, and align data, analytics, and operations to support enterprise goals.

This role is ideal for a seasoned physician leader who excels in mentoring others, leading through influence, and driving measurable impact across diverse care settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic oversight and mentorship to Area CMOs across multiple markets
  • Ensure consistent execution of OCH principles and clinical standards
  • Drive regional performance in quality, shared savings, and provider engagement
  • Lead QAPI strategy and ensure regulatory compliance across facilities
  • Align clinical operations with enterprise analytics, data, and strategic goals
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and facility partners
  • Cultivate a high-performance culture rooted in accountability and collaboration

Qualifications:

  •  Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Geriatrics preferred
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in applicable state(s); DEA registration as required
  • Minimum 8–10 years of clinical experience, with 5+ years in physician leadership
  • Prior experience overseeing multi-market or multi-site clinical operations
  • Demonstrated success in value-based care, shared savings programs, and quality improvement
  • Experience mentoring physician executives and aligning clinical teams across geographies
