    Description

    Your Numbers Keep Healthcare Running

Every budget you build, every variance you catch, every audit you pass — it means facility administrators can focus on residents instead of spreadsheets. NHS Management supports skilled nursing and long-term care facilities across Alabama, Arkansas, and Florida, and we're looking for a Regional Financial Specialist who wants their analytical work to have a visible, human impact in the Birmingham, AL market.

This isn't a back-office reporting role. You'll be the financial partner facility leaders call when they need to understand why a number moved and what to do about it — combining hands-on accounting rigor with the kind of business judgment that gets you a seat at the table.

    What You'll Own

    Financial Analysis & Reporting

    • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for your region
    • Spot trends and variances before they become problems — and explain what's driving them
    • Turn financial data into decisions administrators can actually act on

    Budgeting & Forecasting

    • Build and monitor annual budgets with facility leadership
    • Develop forecasts and projections that hold up under scrutiny
    • Diagnose budget variances and recommend real corrective action, not just flag them

    Compliance & Audit Readiness

    • Keep financial records audit-ready, always — not scrambling in Q4
    • Support internal and external audits as the person who already knows where everything is
    • Ensure practices align with company policy and healthcare finance regulations

    Facility Partnership

    • Be the go-to financial advisor for administrators and staff across your region
    • Roll out financial best practices facilities can sustain, not just comply with
    • Resolve financial questions and issues fast — regions run better when finance is responsive

    What You Bring

    • 3–10 years in financial analysis, accounting, or a related role — skilled nursing experience required.
    • Solid grasp of GAAP and financial reporting principles
    • Experience with Medicare/Medicaid billing in long-term care (this one matters — it's a real differentiator for this role)
    • Collections experience
    • Staff management experience
    • Strong Excel skills and comfort with financial software
    • The kind of attention to detail that catches the error before it becomes a finding

Education: Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Bachelor's preferred. We'll also consider equivalent hands-on experience in long-term care finance in place of a degree — if you've done the job, we want to talk to you.
