Summary Statement
The City of Boise is seeking a Recruitment Coordinator to help create a welcoming, organized and seamless experience for new employees. This position owns the pre-employment onboarding process and serves as a primary point of contact from the time a candidate accepts an offer through their first day with the City.
The ideal candidate is a dependable and service-oriented professional who communicates clearly, follows through on commitments and takes pride in getting the details right. The role coordinates background checks, pre-employment requirements, hiring documentation, system data and start dates while keeping candidates and hiring managers informed throughout the process. It also provides opportunities to identify inefficiencies and improve processes that support a consistent and positive onboarding experience.
Experience in human resources or recruitment is helpful but not required. Candidates with strong customer service, administrative or program coordination experience, accurate data-entry skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines are encouraged to apply.

Essential Functions
Welcomes prospective employees to the organization through the administration of the citys pre-employment onboarding process. Sends electronic pre-employment onboarding documents and schedules appointments for completion of forms and on-site requirements.
Processes background checks and administers pre-employment screening based on job requirements. Refers incidents discovered during pre-employment onboarding that could preclude employment to manager or director. Documents outcomes and advises the hiring manager of the candidate's successful completion of pre-employment onboarding steps.
Administers the recruitment and hiring process through an automated applicant tracking system. Enters data into the system and document management database(s) to ensure candidates are processed and entered into the system. Maintains and audits files for compliance, retention and destruction. Compiles regular and ad hoc reports to reflect hiring metrics and trends.
Schedules start dates and new employee orientation. Ensures communication with candidates and hiring managers are consistent. Maintains strict confidentiality of personally identifying information and personal health information in accordance with the law.
Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts managements right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time.
