    The recruiter will contribute to the planning and execution of various departmental faculty and staff recruitment related initiatives and partner with the Recruitment Manager to create and execute strategic recruitment plans in accordance with the needs and goals of the UTRGV Division of Health Affairs and UT Health RGV.

    Description of Duties

    • Performs recruitment services to deliver quality candidates for the institution, including initial strategy meetings with department managers to discuss recruitment needs and strategies to ensure a highly qualified and diverse applicant pool.
    • Assists the Division of Health Affairs and UT Health RGV search committees to recruit internal and external candidates by sourcing positions in print media, websites, direct mailings, and implements other sourcing activities.
    • Maintains strong relationships with division and departmental leadership to ensure a clear understanding of the division's direction and remains informed on the cutting edge in matching applicants to institutional needs.
    • Attends job fairs, meetings, seminars, workshops, and/or conferences as requested and beneficial.
    • Develops tracking mechanisms and statistics to support short and mid-range plans and budget requirements.
    • Identifies issues and possible solutions with current applicant tracking system (ATS) and assists with testing fixes or modifications when they are being implemented.
    • Reviews and evaluates applications, resumes or other employment hiring documents; conducts interviews and requests references.
    • Performs strategic job functions within the department such as serving on committees or working on special projects as requested.
    • Presents, reviews and negotiates offer letters, letters of intent and reviews university benefits with candidate.
    • Serves as the liaison between candidate and department.
    • Alerts leadership to any challenges within the interview and/or recruitment process that may deter successful recruitment.
    • Oversees the recruitment candidate experience, ensuring a seamless, high-touch process from first contact through onboarding.
    • Participates in recruitment and departmental strategy meetings, providing updates on search progress, candidate engagement, and pending action items.
    • Identifies and engages qualified candidates through various channels, including career fairs, referrals, online job boards, sourcing, and direct outreach to students and academic institutions.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Education

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.

    Licenses/Certifications

    Preferred: Physician/Provider Recruitment Professional Certification (CPRP)

    Required Experience

    Three (3) years of professional recruitment and/or sales experience/extensive outward facing experience, including basic knowledge of the full-cycle recruitment process.

    Preferred Experience

    Experience working in an academic medical center, health system, hospital or pharma with a proven record of accomplishment. Extensive knowledge of medical and surgical clinical specialty areas and strong time management and closing skills.

    Equipment

    Use of standard office equipment. Working knowledge of social media (LinkedIn, Facebook) and its capabilities.

    Working Conditions

    Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office Environment; extensive travel and some weekend work is required. UTRGV is a distributed institution, which requires presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.

    Must possess effective negotiation skills and closing expertise. Adaptable to change. Exhibits diplomacy. Ability to prioritize and manage departmental projects/recruitment priorities simultaneously. Ability to work efficiently independently and in a group setting. Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with physician faculty, healthcare practitioners, and administration at all levels. Customer service oriented which includes responding promptly to customer needs and requests in a timely manner. Must be a skilled interviewer. The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently or part of a group in a fast-paced environment. Effective written, communication and facilitation skills. Effective use of a variety of candidate procurement methods such as direct sourcing, networking, professional organizations, internet/social media and referrals. Proven experience building & maintaining candidate networks. Strategic thinking skills. Strong time management skills. Excellent organization skills.
