  • Built complex workflows end-to-end (audience creation → enrichment → exclusions → delivery)
  • Worked directly with recipient + non-recipient targeting dimensions

JavaScript & Data Logic Inside Campaign

  • Query logic, joins, deduplication, and normalization
  • Reading and debugging Campaign logs and errors

Production-Grade Campaign Design
Senior devs should have experience with:
  • Typology rules (pressure, fatigue, compliance)
  • Suppression logic (global, campaign-specific, dynamic)
  • Multi-touch campaigns with scheduling logic
  • Stage vs Prod parity and promotion strategies

Client-Facing & Requirements Translation
This is huge for seniority:
  • Ability to deconstruct BRDs into technical logic
  • Can explain tradeoffs and data gaps to non-technical stakeholders
  • Has presented workflows, counts, and logic to clients or internal leads

Operational Maturity
Strong senior signals include:

If you can get these, grab them:
  • v7 → v8 or Client → Client migration experience
  • Experience mentoring junior devs
  • Exposure to enterprise data (CRM, transactional, preference centers)
  • HTML knowledge beyond drag-and-drop (even if not a full email dev)
