About the Job
CardioOne is seeking a dynamic and experienced Revenue Cycle Implementation & Optimization Manager to lead the onboarding of new practice partners, drive continuous improvement across existing revenue cycle operations, and manage strategic projects that support CardioOne's revenue cycle growth and performance goals. This role sits at the intersection of revenue cycle expertise, systems knowledge, and project management — serving as a key connector between clinical operations, practice leadership, billing teams, and technology to ensure seamless implementations and sustainable, high-performing revenue cycle workflows.
What You'll Do
Practice Onboarding & Implementation
Collaborate with RCM leadership on end-to-end revenue cycle implementations for new practice partners joining the CardioOne network, serving as the primary project lead from contract execution through go-live and stabilization
Develop and maintain standardized implementation playbooks, timelines, and checklists covering all revenue cycle workstreams including coding, charge entry, authorization, billing, and AR
Coordinate across internal teams, practice staff, and third-party vendors to ensure all revenue cycle components are configured, tested, and operational prior to go-live
Coordinate with the product team on athenaOne build and configuration tasks related to revenue cycle onboarding, including fee schedules, insurance packages, and workflow configuration
Identify and mitigate implementation risks proactively, escalating blockers and communicating status clearly to leadership and stakeholders
Oversee post-go-live stabilization, monitoring key performance indicators and resolving issues before they impact revenue
Revenue Cycle Optimization
Conduct structured assessments of existing practice partner revenue cycle performance, identifying gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities across the full billing cycle
Develop and execute optimization plans targeting clean claim rates, denial reduction, charge lag, authorization approval rates, and net collection rates
Partner with AR, coding, authorization, and billing teams to design and implement workflow improvements that drive measurable performance gains
Stakeholder & Practice Partner Engagement
Build strong relationships with practice administrators, physicians, and operational leaders at partner practices, serving as a trusted advisor on revenue cycle performance and strategy
Translate complex revenue cycle data, workflow changes, and system updates into clear, actionable communication for clinical and non-clinical audiences
Serve as an escalation point for practice partners experiencing revenue cycle challenges, coordinating rapid response and resolution across internal teams
What you'll need:
5+ years of experience in revenue cycle management, medical billing, or healthcare operations, with a strong preference for cardiology or physician group experience
Demonstrated experience leading revenue cycle implementations or onboarding projects in a multi-site or multi-provider environment
Proficiency with athenaOne (athenaHealth) is preferred, including working knowledge of payer setup, fee schedules, charge entry, authorization workflows, and reporting
Proficiency with Phreesia is preferred
Strong project management skills with experience managing complex, cross-functional initiatives
Working knowledge across all major revenue cycle functions including credentialing, coding, charge capture, prior authorization, billing, and AR
Experience with cardiology or cardiovascular specialty billing, including cardiac imaging, interventional procedures, and cardiovascular surgery is strongly preferred
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple implementations and projects simultaneously without losing attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both clinical and administrative stakeholders
Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities and a lean team structure
