Client is seeking an experienced Radiology Technician to support the Women's DI department at its Warwick, Rhode Island location.
Under the administrative direction of the Radiology Manager and clinical direction of the Radiologist/Team Leader, the Radiology Technician will independently perform imaging examinations within the assigned section while maintaining high standards of patient care, image quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and departmental collaboration.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of radiology experience and demonstrated competency operating applicable imaging equipment, including X-Ray, Mammography, and Bone Density equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Independently perform assigned radiology examinations in accordance with established procedures and departmental standards.
• Competently operate imaging equipment, including:
  • X-Ray
  • Mammography
  • Bone Density
• Review examination requisitions to determine:
  • Appropriate room setup
  • Required radiation exposure
  • Appropriate examination views
  • Patient anatomy and positioning requirements
• Perform examinations according to established protocols and evaluate diagnostic images for quality.
• Repeat unsuitable or non-diagnostic images when necessary.
• Perform designated quality-control procedures at required intervals on imaging and ancillary equipment.
• Maintain compliance with applicable Federal and Joint Commission standards of care.
• Demonstrate safe and efficient use of imaging equipment and radiation.
• Train employees and students regarding day-to-day departmental procedures as assigned.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with radiologists, team leaders, departmental staff, and other divisions.
• Work proactively with other departments to facilitate patient access and scheduling of examinations.
• Demonstrate competency with applicable healthcare technology and information systems, including:
  • Radiology Information System (RIS)
  • Clinical Information System (CIS)
  • Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS)
  • Other imaging-specific computer systems
• Participate in required continuing education activities.
• Serve as a positive role model and contribute to a collaborative departmental environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 3 years of radiology experience.
• Radiology Technician / Radiologic Technologist experience.
• Experience performing diagnostic imaging procedures independently.
• Demonstrated ability to operate applicable imaging equipment.
• Experience with image quality evaluation and repeat imaging when required.
• Understanding of radiation safety and exposure principles.
• Ability to perform quality-control procedures on imaging equipment.
• Ability to work independently while following established clinical protocols.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.
• Ability to work in a healthcare/imaging environment and interact professionally with patients and clinical staff.

PREFERRED / ROLE-SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with X-Ray, Mammography, and Bone Density.
• Experience working in a Women's Imaging/Women's Diagnostic Imaging environment.
• Experience with RIS, CIS, and PACS.
• Experience training students or other employees.
• Familiarity with Federal and Joint Commission imaging standards.
• Experience working within a hospital or health-system radiology department.
