Quality/Test Engineer 3

Location: Mossville, IL (On-Site)

Duration: 12-Month Contract + Possible extension

Schedule: Full-Time, First Shift

Compensation: $36.00 - $40.00/hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a Quality/Test Engineer 3 to support the validation and quality assurance efforts for advanced machine safety technologies. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and execute validation strategies, troubleshoot system issues, analyze test data, and ensure products meet performance and quality requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on testing, problem solving, and contributing to innovative safety solutions used across global equipment platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test procedures, and validation activities based on system and software requirements.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and support root-cause investigations for hardware and software integration issues.
• Document validation evidence, test results, defect reports, and release readiness artifacts.
• Review requirements and ensure traceability between requirements, testing, and validation outcomes.
• Support issue triage efforts and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve product quality concerns.
• Evaluate system performance and reliability using structured engineering and quality processes.
• Participate in design reviews, test reviews, and cross-functional project discussions.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality and testing practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in quality engineering, validation, testing, or related engineering functions.
• Experience creating and executing test plans and test cases.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis experience.
• Ability to develop clear technical documentation, including test reports and validation records.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively within a large cross-functional engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with embedded systems, controllers, and sensor technologies.
• Knowledge of CAN/J1939, Ethernet, or TCP/IP communication protocols.
• Experience with radar, camera, GPS, or IMU-based systems.
• Background in HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) or bench testing environments.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar workflow and defect management tools.
• Basic Python scripting experience.
• Experience supporting safety-critical, automotive, heavy equipment, or embedded technology programs.
