QUALITY MANAGER / DIRECTOR for metals materials company

GNR has been retained by a 50+ year old, very stable, and growing AS9100 materials distributor in need of a “hands-on” QUALITY MANAGER.You’ll own the entire quality & safety program for the company, across multiple sites in up-state NY - must reside in Buffalo area.

Reporting directly to the President, you’ll collaborate with everyone throughout the organization, including customers & suppliers. You’re accountable for QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM / QMS, and improve standards, processes and procedures, quality control, certifications, audits, safety, and product inspection, etc.

RESPONSIBILITES & EXPERIENCE:

• Strong QUALITY experience with tight compliance requirements
• Able to identify and LEAD initiatives; update processes & procedures, and implement improvements as required to better the company, its members & safety.
• Ensure compliance for AS 9100 audits & certifications follow the deliverable.
• Monitor key metrics, investigate/resolve quality issues, and help reduce costs.
• Very hands-on position - draft procedures, walk the floor, calibrate equipment as required
• Maintain & improve SUPPLIER Quality streams as required.
• Current/prior experience with AS9100 STD’s & compliance requirements for aerospace / defense customers.
