Expected Hours per Week: 40

Schedule: Standard Business Hours, Monday-Friday

Pay Range: $45.00 - $52.00/hour

Job Description: We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to support supplier quality initiatives and drive continuous improvement across the supply base. This onsite role is responsible for supplier evaluation, corrective actions, quality performance monitoring, new product introduction support, and ensuring suppliers consistently meet product and quality requirements. The ideal candidate will bring a strong engineering background, effective problem-solving skills, and experience working collaboratively with suppliers to improve quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in supplier evaluation, qualification, and selection activities.
  • Lead supplier corrective action processes, including containment, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Ensure suppliers effectively utilize quality tools and methodologies.
  • Partner with suppliers to verify that all product and quality requirements are achieved.
  • Support supplier quality activities for new product introductions and existing product lines.
  • Reduce supplier-related issues, improve process capabilities, and support successful project launches.
  • Determine supplier readiness and compliance for new or modified products.
  • Measure supplier quality performance and drive improvement plans to achieve established targets.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives focused on defect reduction and process enhancement.
  • Manage supplier quality risks and resolve quality concerns in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific discipline.
  • Intermediate-level relevant professional experience in quality engineering, supplier quality, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Knowledge of supplier quality management principles and quality systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, collaboration, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage project issues and risks while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Understanding of statistical methods and quality tools used for data analysis and process improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with special manufacturing processes such as heat treating and coatings.
  • Experience supporting Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities.
  • Knowledge of dimensional metrology and measurement systems.
  • Experience participating in supplier audits, assessments, or certification activities.
