    Description

    Primary responsibility of a Quality Engineer II is to ensure quality standards are established, achieved and maintained to meet the requirements for the Company's products and processes. This includes leading cross-functional efforts to determine process and product capabilities, improving control and inspection plans, driving root cause analysis, implementing statistical methods, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, and customer complaints. The Quality Engineer II also serves as a key interface with customers and suppliers to proactively identify and resolve quality risks across the product lifecycle.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLead and support internal and external audits in accordance with published schedules and specificationsLead and follow up on internal and customer corrective actions to ensure timely and effective closureReview engineering drawings for accuracy and proper incorporation into quality plansInitiate and revise quality procedures and work instructions to support process improvementsSupport and lead customer source inspection activitiesInitiate and review quality plans such as First Article Inspection Reports and PPAP documentationLead root cause corrective actions and complete 8D investigations for recurring or high-impact issuesParticipate in FMEA activities to identify and mitigate process and product risksSupport MRB activities and drive reduction of rejections and nonconforming materialHandle and support resolution of Notices of Escape and customer‐related quality issuesDrive scrap reduction and continuous improvement initiatives using data analysisImplement and support SPC methods to monitor and improve process performanceAnalyze process capability and recommend improvements to reduce variationImprove inspection techniques and support standardization of inspection methodsSupport training and development of inspectors to improve consistency and effectivenessAssist with implementation of automated inspection methods to reduce manual measurementWork cross‑functionally with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain to resolve quality issuesAdvise leadership of significant quality concerns or trendsPerform QMS and policy awareness training as neededFollow all HSE procedures and report any nonconformanceIdentify opportunities to improve safety, quality, and environmental performanceIssue and track Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) and monitor closure for effectiveness and timelinessPerform or participate in supplier audits and process reviews to assess quality system compliance and manufacturing capabilityEvaluate incoming material nonconformances, disposition supplier‑related rejections, and communicate findings to the supply chain teamSupport Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities for new program launches, including development of Control Plans, FMEAs, and inspection strategies aligned to each program phaseDevelop, maintain, and present quality performance metrics for assigned product lines or processes, including scrap rate, first pass yield, COPQ, and corrective action closure rateAnalyze trends in quality data and provide actionable reporting to manufacturing and quality leadership on a regular cadenceOther duties as assignedWays of working, Experience, and BehaviorsAnalytical – Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and determine root causesTechnical Skills – Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, SPC, and FMEACommunication – Communicates clearly and effectively across all levelsTeamwork – Works collaboratively across departments and leads problem‑solving effortsBusiness Acumen – Understands the impact of quality on cost, delivery, and customer satisfactionCost Consciousness – Supports cost reduction and waste elimination initiativesAdaptability – Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environmentPlanning/Organizing – Effectively manages projects and deadlinesProfessionalism – Demonstrates accountability, integrity, and sound judgmentNo direct supervisory responsibilities.
