    Assumes the responsibility for auditing the registrations for accuracy based on the established guidelines and updates/revises the registration in the computer system.

    Minimum Job Requirements

    • 1 - 5 years experience as a Registrar in a hospital environment.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Trains new team members in the functions of the department. Explains the processes and provides the tools necessary for completing the tasks.

    • Communicates training needs and deficiencies to Leadership team.

    • Completes audit of weekly and monthly dispute reports in a timely fashion.

    • Enters the corrections into the computer system and notifies the Registrar and the appropriate Supervisor.

    • Monitors the duplicate medical record numbers, identifies root cause, and notifies the appropriate Supervisor or department.

    • Reviews errors in QA system and notifies the appropriate Supervisor.

    • Reviews prior day's prescriptions for accuracy and compliance.

    • Reviews staff productivity to ensure accuracy and communicates any trends to Supervisor for additional action.

    • Meets with staff to discuss any areas for improvement identified in their productivity.

    • Reviews the demographic and third-party payer information on the registrations for accuracy, utilizing established guidelines.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    • High school education or equivalent preferred

    • Ability to learn appropriate software applications.

    • Proficient in Excel and Cognos.

    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
