Job Summary

The Purchasing Manager leads product purchasing for AYR's retail stores across the Virginia market, negotiating terms, pricing, and quantities to keep inventory aligned with demand. Working closely with the retail and wholesale teams, this role translates sales trends and forecasts into purchasing decisions that drive year-over-year growth, healthy margins, and consistent product availability for our patients and customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage product purchasing for all retail stores in the region
• Negotiate all facets of product purchase, including terms, price, and quantities
• Manage orders and order flow to ensure timely receipts and end-of-month inventory goals align with the company's financial goals
• React quickly to business trends and determine the proper course of action to maximize sales, gross margin, turn, and store inventory levels
• Embody the company's culture, values, and full support of our purpose, goals, and key objectives

Qualifications

• Excellent people and time management skills
• Ability to recognize and respond to changing trends and priorities
• Knowledge of and experience in the cannabis industry, or another highly regulated industry, preferred but not required
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Demonstrates honesty and integrity and behaviors in accordance with the company's vision, mission, policies, and procedures
• Excellent communication skills
• Willing to travel as needed

Education

• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required; equivalent combination of education and at least 3-5 years' experience in retail buying accepted.
