POSITION SUMMARY:
Focus Interpreting is looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Punjabi Interpreter to join our team in San Diego, CA. In this role, you will provide high-quality interpretation services to facilitate effective communication between Punjabi-speaking individuals and English speakers in various contexts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide accurate interpretation services during meetings, medical appointments, and other engagements involving Punjabi and English speakers.
- Ensure clarity in communication by adhering to best practices and maintaining a high standard of professionalism.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy in all interactions.
- Prepare for assignments by researching relevant terminology and understanding specific client needs.
- Continuously enhance your language skills and cultural knowledge to better serve clients across different domains.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluency in both English and Punjabi, with strong oral and written communication skills in both languages.
- Excellent listening and analytical skills to ensure precise interpretation.
- Strong understanding of cultural nuances that facilitate effective communication.
- Prior experience in interpretation, especially in medical, educational, or legal settings, is preferred.
