The Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation serves UNC Charlotte and the Charlotte region as a center of excellence for evidence-based entrepreneurship. The Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation provides training, resources, and expertise for university and community-based startups as they commercialize their innovations, scale their ventures, and contribute to the economic development of the region. The Center promotes entrepreneurial teaching and experiential learning for students and faculty and serves as an entrepreneurship program and policy resource for UNC Charlotte and the Charlotte region.

Primary Purpose of Position

This position will contribute to the overall strategy and priorities of the Belk College of Business, primarily by developing internal and external marketing and communications materials for specific strategic areas of the Belk College, such as enewsletters, articles and profiles, copywriting, blog posts, photo and video projects, sponsorship packets, annual reports and social media posts. This position will plan, organize, manage and execute strategic Belk College marketing, event and communications projects from research, planning, implementation and measurement. This position will support undergraduate programs marketing, communications and events, including Niblock Student Center programming and services and undergraduate recruitment, CO-LAB at UNC Charlotte marketing and communications to drive membership, event revenue, and program promotion, as well as Childress Klein Center for Real Estate communication and events. This position also will work with the Director of External Relations to support signature college events and the Executive Director for the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation on CO-LAB initiatives as assigned. This position requires some knowledge of communications tools, including but not limited to: web content management system, e-newsletter software, social media management, InDesign, Photoshop and PowerPoint. Photography and video editing knowledge is preferred though not required.

This position will support undergraduate programs marketing, communications and

events, including undergraduate recruitment, Childress Klein Center for Real

Estate communication, and Co-Lab

Minimum Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in a closely related field that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed in the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Higher education or nonprofit experience is highly desirable. Event planning and project management experience is preferred. Social media work experience is desirable. Web content management system experience is desirable. Video production and/or editing skills desirable. Exceptional user-focused writing and editing skills, strong grammar and communication skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize work while managing multiple deadlines. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, a high degree of accuracy, and the ability to multitask. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and marketing software. Ability and willingness to travel to various work and event locations.
