Creative Greensboro is looking for a Public Art and Cultural Programs Assistant to support the Citys public art initiatives and Culture Works. This part-time opportunity is designed for a current college student or recent graduate who wants to explore arts administration, public art, event planning, community engagement, or the creative economy while gaining meaningful, hands-on experience.

Youll work alongside a team supporting projects that connect people, places, artists, and ideas throughout Greensboro. From researching artists and helping coordinate public art projects to supporting community events and preparing project materials, your work will contribute to a city where creativity, opportunity, and quality of life are part of what makes Greensboro special.

Compensation

  • Hiring Rate: $18/hour
  • Pay Grade: 31
  • Active Roster Temporary position
  • Approximately 15-20 hours per week

Work Schedule

This is a primarily in-person position based at Creative Greensboro.

  • Approximately 15-20 hours per week
  • Scheduling flexibility around academic commitments when possible
  • Limited hybrid work may be permitted for specific assignments with prior supervisor approval
  • Applicants should expect to work on-site for the majority of scheduled hours
  • Some evening or weekend availability may be required for events

About the Role

As the Public Art and Cultural Programs Assistant, youll provide project and event support for Creative Greensboros public art initiatives and Culture Works.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who is curious, organized, collaborative, and excited about the role that arts and culture play in creating connected, vibrant communities.

What Youll Do

  • Assist with the coordination and tracking of public art projects, artist information, and project timelines.
  • Support artist calls, research, community engagement activities, and public art events.
  • Help maintain information and documentation related to Greensboros public art collection.
  • Assist with Culture Works planning, including artist and participant outreach, schedules, program information, and event logistics.
  • Research artists, creative businesses, community partners, and potential program participants.
  • Assist with presentations, spreadsheets, communications, and other project materials.
  • Provide on-site support for public art activities, CultureWorks, and other Creative Greensboro events as needed.
  • Work independently on assigned projects while communicating effectively with the team and meeting established deadlines.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current college student or recent graduate.
  • Experience in arts and culture, public art, event planning, community engagement, or related fields.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canva, or similar tools.
  • Able to work independently, manage assignments, and meet deadlines.
