Our commercial real estate client is seeking a Property Manager in their San Diego office. This Property Manager role owns the day-to-day operational performance of assigned properties, from physical condition and tenant experience to budget management and vendor oversight. The role works closely with a Regional Property Manager on escalations and broader priorities, and partners cross-functionally with accounting, marketing, and leasing teams.

Why This Role Stands Out:

  • You'll have genuine decision-making authority within your properties.
  • You'll work directly with leasing, accounting, and marketing on property-level initiatives.
  • This firm owns and manages more than 12 million square feet, giving employees broad exposure to a large portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of daily property operations, ensuring each asset meets company standards for physical condition, tenant experience, and overall performance
  • Conduct regular property inspections and address issues proactively before they escalate
  • Build and manage annual operating and capital budgets; track financial performance and take corrective action on variances
  • Monitor and control operating expenses, identifying cost efficiencies without sacrificing property standards
  • Participate in capital project planning and oversee execution of approved projects, keeping scope, budget, and timelines on track
  • Cultivate strong relationships with tenants, vendors, and community stakeholders to support property performance and a quality customer experience
  • Provide leasing teams with ground-level insight into tenant performance, merchandising gaps, and center dynamics
  • Evaluate vendor service needs, manage contract terms, and hold third-party providers accountable to quality and cost standards
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including accounting, marketing, and leasing, to support property and portfolio-level initiatives
  • Ensure properties remain compliant with applicable legal, regulatory, and environmental requirements
  • Be available to respond to after-hours emergencies and urgent property issues as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree; a combination of education and 7 years of experience may be considered instead of a bachelor's degree
  • 5 years of experience in retail property management
  • Active California Real Estate Salesperson license
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Prior experience utilizing property management technology/systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience managing operating budgets, controlling costs, and resolving financial variances
  • Experience coordinating and overseeing capital improvement projects from planning through completion
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a history of building effective relationships with tenants, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate across functions and contribute to portfolio-level objectives beyond individual property performance
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities
