The Talent Shop is seeking a mechanically skilled Propane Service Technician to install, maintain, and service bulk propane tanks and related systems at residential, commercial, and construction sites.
This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working independently, and delivering dependable service with a strong focus on safety.
Install and position bulk propane tanks, including tanks up to 1,000 gallons, at customer locations and construction sites.
Connect tanks, piping, and related components in accordance with company standards and applicable safety regulations.
Perform leak tests, pressure checks, and system inspections to verify safe operation.
Maintain propane tanks and related systems, troubleshoot issues, and complete necessary repairs.
Safely operate a six-speed boom truck equipped with a crane to transport and position tanks.
Use tank movers and related equipment to relocate and install tanks.
Connect multiple tanks through pigtailing to support proper system configuration and performance.
Install temporary heating systems for construction and residential sites during winter months.
Deliver propane and related products, accurately meter deliveries, and complete required documentation.
Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and follow company safety procedures and DOT requirements.
Communicate professionally with customers and team members regarding installations, service needs, and completed work.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Class B Commercial Drivers License with a hazmat endorsement and a clean driving record.
Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and basic refrigeration.
Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and related service equipment.
Strong troubleshooting skills and sound judgment under pressure.
Clear verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Technical or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or refrigeration systems.
EPA certification or a related technical credential.
Experience installing or servicing propane tanks, piping, or related equipment.
Regularly lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.
Frequently stand, bend, kneel, and climb.
Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, in confined spaces, and at customer locations.
