JOB SUMMARY: 

The position will focus on delivering projects in the area of distribution and water and wastewater systems for the Capital Improvement Program. Project Manager (PM) responsibilities include overseeing the design process and ensuring that standard program protocols and procedures are followed, resolving delivery issues, and reviewing work progress and progress payments. The position requires excellent technical skills combined with an acumen for project management, consulting and client service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Managingcontractorsperformingvarious wastewater and distribution systems projects includingtracking schedule,budget,performance,utilizationandsubmittalsaswell asholdingstatusmeetings
  • ProvideinputandrecommendationstoovercomeContractorproblemsencounteredinthefield
  • Coordinatewith construction managers,communityoutreach,engineering,andcontractorsasneeded
  • Clientmanagement,effectivelycommunicatingwithclientstodevelopcollaborativesolutions
  • Discussprojectresultsandrecommendationswithclientstofacilitateinformeddecision-making
  • Writing,reviewing,andprovidingclear,conciseinputtoinvestigation,regulatory,orsolutionsreports
  • Managingdeliverablestoscope,schedule,andbudget
  • Attend regularly scheduled progress meetings
  • Coordinate with Construction Manager during the construction phase


Required Skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Experience with Capital Improvement Programs (CIP)
  • Experience with various contracts: Design-Bid-Build (DBB), Design-Build (DB), Construction Manager At Risk (CMAR), Progressive-Design-Build (PDB).
  • Distribution Systems and Wastewater Systems Experience
  • Ability to work with Owner’s representative through the planning, design and construction phases
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel programs
  • Familiar with Project Management Information System (PMIS) software


Required Experience

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’sdegreeincivilengineeringorotherappliedsubject
  • Minimum5years’technicalexperiencein water/wastewater systemassessment,design, and construction
  • Excellentverbalandwrittencommunicationskills
  • Experienceinclientservicemanagement

Preferred Qualifications

  • WorkingknowledgeofArcGISwithassociatedproductionofmaps,files, and lists
  • Deliveryofconsentdecreeprograms

LICENSURES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS:

  • Valid Georgia Driver’s License and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets company policy standards
  • NASSCO certified (MACP and PACP) - preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) - preferred
  • Certifications related to project management - preferred but not required

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires the ability to exert light physical effort including, but not limited to, lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling, etc. of objects and materials of light weight (generally 25 pounds and less)
  • May involve extended periods of time in seated position up to 75% of the workday at a keyboard or workstation
  • Must be physically able to operate a variety of job-related machines and/or Office Equipment
  • Ability to stand at least 25% of workday

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This job combines office with some field work
  • Willingness to travel as required
