Project Manager - Ground-Up Construction - Washington, D.C.

The Project Manager - Ground-Up Construction - Washington, D.C. will be responsible for:

  • Manage all phases of construction projects from preconstruction through turnover.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts.
  • Lead subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and buyout activities.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, consultants, and project stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
  • Drive project planning efforts including logistics, sequencing, risk management, and constructability reviews.
  • Monitor project performance, proactively identify risks, and implement solutions before issues impact schedule or budget.
  • Oversee change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
  • Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with field teams and executive leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mentor junior project team members while fostering a collaborative and accountable culture.

A successful Project Manager - Ground-Up Construction - Washington, D.C. should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Proven experience managing commercial, institutional, public-sector, healthcare, education, mixed-use, or multifamily construction projects.
  • Experience overseeing projects from preconstruction through completion.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, scheduling, cost control, subcontractor management, and contract administration.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple stakeholders and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions independently and take ownership of project outcomes.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment where adaptability and proactive leadership are critical.
  • Experience with CMAR, Design-Build, or negotiated project delivery methods is a plus.
  • Project Manager and Senior Project Manager candidates will be considered based on experience level and project complexity managed.
