Job Description

The Project Manager - Government Projects - Maryland will be responsible for:

• Managing all phases of public and government construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to ensure successful project delivery.
• Serving as the primary point of contact for owners, government agencies, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Overseeing contract administration, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
• Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local, and agency-specific regulations, requirements, and reporting standards.
• Leading project meetings and providing regular updates on schedule, budget, risks, and project performance.
• Coordinating with field teams to ensure quality standards, safety compliance, and project milestones are achieved.
• Managing procurement activities, subcontractor relationships, and vendor performance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identifying and mitigating project risks while proactively resolving issues that may impact cost, schedule, or quality.
• Reviewing and approving project costs, invoices, forecasts, and financial reports to maintain profitability and budget adherence.
• Collaborating with estimating and business development teams on project pursuits, proposals, and preconstruction activities.
• Ensuring successful project closeout, including final documentation, punch list completion, and client turnover.

The Successful Applicant

The Project Manager - Government Projects - Maryland will have:

• 5+ years of experience managing commercial, institutional, government, federal, state, or municipal construction projects.
• Proven experience overseeing projects from preconstruction through closeout with responsibility for budget, schedule, and client management.
• Strong knowledge of government contracting requirements, construction regulations, procurement processes, and contract administration.
• Experience managing subcontractors, consultants, and project teams on complex construction projects.
• Proficiency with construction management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and change order management.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with owners, government agencies, design teams, and subcontractors.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, solve problems, and drive projects to successful completion.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with federal agencies, public-sector clients, or government-funded projects is strongly preferred.
• Understanding of construction safety requirements and commitment to maintaining a safe jobsite environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
