    Description

Project Manager / Estimator - Highway & Airport Electrical

Interior Alaska (central Alaska) | Full-Time

Win the work, then build it.

Our client is an electrical contractor delivering highway and airport electrical projects to DOT, FAA, and owner standards. They are hiring a Project Manager who estimates and bids the work, then carries it from preconstruction through closeout.

This is a rare seat where the same person prices the job and runs it. You see your numbers become a finished project, and you own the result.

    What you will actually do

    • Estimate highway and airport electrical projects: takeoffs, pricing, bid preparation, and proposals.
    • Manage multiple projects at once, from planning through closeout.
    • Own budgets, forecasts, schedules, and cost controls on every job.
    • Handle RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedules, and project documentation.
    • Oversee material procurement and equipment logistics.
    • Coordinate field supervisors, electricians, subcontractors, inspectors, engineers, and owners.
    • Work with estimators, foremen, and fellow PMs to balance manpower and resources.
    • Monitor progress, quality, productivity, and safety on every site.
    • Build lasting relationships with clients, agencies, and project stakeholders.

    What this job is not

This is not a hand-off seat, where someone else prices the job and you inherit it. You build the estimate and you deliver against it.

What you need to have done

    • Managed projects in highway, airport, utility, or electrical construction.
    • Estimated electrical construction projects.
    • Worked to DOT specifications and FAA standards, and know commercial and industrial electrical systems.
    • Strong command of the 2023 National Electrical Code.
    • Managed budgets, schedules, contracts, and people.
    • Clear communication, steady leadership, and real problem-solving.

    Who should apply

Electrical PMs who already estimate their own work. Utility or heavy-civil electrical PMs who want to move into DOT and FAA projects. Senior electrical estimators who are ready to run the jobs they win.
