Project Manager - Construction - Brooklyn

Our client is a well-established New York City General Contractor with a strong reputation in the affordable housing and multifamily construction market. With a substantial pipeline of ground-up residential developments throughout Brooklyn and the five boroughs, they offer long-term stability, complex projects, and clear opportunities for career growth.

As a Project Manager - Construction - Brooklyn, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing ground-up affordable housing and multifamily developments from preconstruction through completion
  • Developing and maintaining project budgets, schedules, and financial forecasts
  • Coordinating architects, engineers, consultants, ownership groups, and subcontractors
  • Managing procurement, contract administration, and subcontractor buyouts
  • Reviewing and processing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
  • Monitoring project costs and maintaining strong financial controls
  • Leading project meetings and serving as the primary client-facing representative
  • Collaborating closely with Superintendents to ensure successful field execution
  • Identifying project risks and implementing mitigation strategies
  • Managing project reporting, compliance requirements, and stakeholder communication
  • Coordinating inspections, agency approvals, and occupancy milestones
  • Ensuring all projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred
  • 10+ years of construction experience
  • 7+ years of Project Management experience managing ground-up projects
  • Extensive experience with ground-up affordable housing, multifamily, workforce housing, or mixed-use developments
  • Proven experience managing projects valued at $50M+
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, and cost control expertise
  • Experience managing project teams, subcontractors, and client relationships
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and project controls
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Stable employment history demonstrating long-term tenure and successful project delivery
